Former European light-welterweight champion Paul McCloskey is still looking for an opponent for his comeback fight after losing for the first time against WBA champion Amir Khan last month. The 31 year-old was stopped in six rounds on a debatable cut and is looking to get back to action in the near future.
“Dudey” tweeted earlier today, denying that a bout with the only man to beat former foe Khan, Breidis Prescott, was scheduled for September as speculated by certain boxing websites. The Dungiven southpaw even stated that he believes that the Colombian has now moved up to welterweight, ending any of the rumours that a bout was even negotiated.
McCloskey has also mentioned that he hopes to get back in the ring in August as he tries to manoeuvre his way to another shot at the light-welterweight title, but a second shot at former Olympic silver medallist Khan seems destined to never happen at all.
