Someone sell me on the summer months in boxing.

Why does Boxing go through such a dry spell, especially in the summer? We put up with the long period from middle of December till nearly Feb but now the summer is proving for lack luster events also and this year is no different than the last 3-4 years. There isn't really any events this summer to get excited for. June is an alright month but where is the real exciting fights to get excited for?

Johnson V Froch is okay but that is practically the summers top fight. June 25th is okay with HBO and the Rios fight is okay but none of these are big time fights. This summer is going to make boxing very forgetful.

We've been kept waiting for Wlad-Haye for long enough. Even though I'm expecting a blowout by Wlad, that's the fight that's carrying my summer boxing excitement. It's just taken so long to get done.

Somehow I forgot about that fight. That is a great fight and looking forward to it now that you reminded me about it. Sucks that HBO will pull their typical stunt with major events like these and only show the main event though.

Really its not that bad compared to past summers. We were supposed to have Bradley-Khan in July also but that fell through.
