      not about winning..

hopkims is a great fighter, a true student of the game and the absolute best tactician in todays game. As the student and tactician he is, hopkins was well aware of pascals flaws and thats all atlas is pointing out. The landscape was there, for bernard to shine, but nonetheless, still an amazing accomplishment..

          LOL
so basically he discredited hopkins because he used his experience against a younger fighter...?

But Hopkins was talking about the element of surprise. That people go in there thinking since he's 46 that he's old in boxing years. I don't think he meant his tricks or anything, he meant element of surprise. When a fighter does something you didn't think he could do.

Teddy was rightly pointing out that Jean Pascal's lack of fundamentals made the fight easier for Hopkins. I don't know if Pascal has poor fundamentals but he definitely didn't display any in his two fights with Hopkins. He was fighting in spurts, never used his jab, swung so wild sometimes he put himself way off balance, and his control of distance was terrible. A solid boxer like Hopkins could have made short work of him had he been younger but at his age the best he could manage was a close fight but a well deserved decision.
I don't know who else teddy was referring to when he said young guys today lack basics/fundamentals and Hopkins is taking advantage, its a bleak view and one I generally don't agree with.

It's funny you say that because do you remember how he constantly criticized Kevin Rooney Jr. when he fought on FNF a few weeks ago? Turns out he happens to not like Kevin Rooney very much hahaha

And I get what Teddy was saying, but cmon, if Pascal is that bad a fighter than why'd you pick him Teddy? BHop absolutely won that conversation, you can't blame a fighter for being in a weaker era, not his fault.

It's subtle things. Like fighting in the clinch... clinching with 1 arm and telling the ref it's your opponent with the other (this mad pascal MAD).

Spinning your opponent (he spun pascal a TON). Punching off the wrong foot.

Real tiny stuff, surprises these guys today. It would suprise dawson too as he isn't use to most of this stuff either.
looks like teddy wants to bring up the OST test loolllll

might be scared he might get called a racist for bringing it up LOL
