This to me wasn't a debate, they were basically saying the same thing except Teddy had a defensive stance almost as if it was a debate but as far as I know a debate is when 2 people DISAGREE and these 2 didn't.

Bernard was saying his game plan and what he had planned to do and what he was successful doing, Teddy didn't try to negate those facts he co signed them and explained to him about nowaday fighters and how the overall breed of today's fighters aren't built like fighters of the past.

he was basically explaining to him that while yes it's true you're amazing and everything but the guys he's defeating to establish this greatness are so unskilled in terms of technical Boxing that it's sad for him to see.

he didn't deny what Hopkins said about himself or his strategies he simply pointed out that the guy who he executed it against is much like a lot of fighters today he lacked the fundamental tools that it takes to fight a guy like Bernard and Teddy was just disappointed, not in Hopkins tho in Pascal and people whom like Pacal don't know how to adapt in a fight which a lot of people nowadays surprisingly can't

They're talking about two totally different things. Hopkins mistook Atlas for trying to take credit away from him. Granted, Atlas should've made himself more clear. His point was young guys should really learn boxing technique/fundamentals.

Jean Pascal is one of these Roy Jones types. The "athlete" fighter type without the traditional fundamental base. It's a style that [usually] looks flashy. He fights in spurts. David Haye is another one that does it. When you take that away from them, they're screwed. Look at Roy Jones. As an older fighter, he just didn't have the ability to do it, most of us here realize that.

What Hopkins has done, and what Atlas was saying, is expose Pascal and that basic style type. Roy Jones was clever enough and gifted enough to get away with his style, and perhaps equally as importantly, tenacious enough (he had the stamina). Nobody else has truly been able to emulate that. Jones' fighting style has been sort of rendered obsolete by Hopkins. Well, unless it's Prime Jones. It's like Tyson in his prime, nobody has been able to do that again. Kevin Rooney seemed to only train fighters in that way, trying to find "the next Tyson."

When someone of Pascal's way of fighting goes against a smart boxer, their capacity to win is low. Against someone as advanced as Hopkins, particularly in a rematch, Pascal didn't stand a chance. The only reason Pascal was in the fight at all is because of Hopkins' age. Hopkins already solved the Pascal puzzle in the first fight. In the rematch, the puzzle didn't change very much.

Hopkins himself has had a transformation, a learning process throughout his career. He doesn't fight just as he did when he fought Jones I, or Echols, or Trinidad. There was a period there where Hopkins was sort of trying to emulate Jones, at least in spots. However, Hopkins realized that he shouldn't try to fight like Jones. Had he tried adopting Jones' style completely, he wouldn't have still been fighting today.

I don't see Dawson vs. Hopkins as very appealing because Dawson has a similar "fight in spurts" kind of style. As Hopkins said, he's designed to disarm a fighter of their best weapon. It takes either a really smart boxer or a really "******"/unpredictable boxer to beat someone like Hopkins. Calzaghe just gave Hopkins zero respect and was hard for Hopkins to predict, not to mention probably stronger and more rough-housing that Hopkins expected. Same with Taylor. Taylor did so many things wrong that it threw Hopkins off. His jab disappeared, he came out with wild shots, and it was the first time Hopkins had lost rounds basically since Roy Jones, yet it was still close and many still had Hopkins winning both Taylor fights.

          I don't know.

I didn't see this fight, but if Pascal couldn't deal with right-hand leads as reported, maybe that would upset someone like Atlas.
nothing wrong with their DISCUSSION, it wasn't no disrespect on either side

at least Atlas is not afraid to give his honest opinion RIGHT IN FRONT OF HOPKINS FACE unlike SOME PEOPLE!
true that lol.. still its kind of annoying when he flip flops on his predictions.

before the fight he says hopkins in this case will lose and likely be stopped. hopkins takes pascal to school and nearly knocks him out and atlas still wont give him any props. hes taking away from hopkins' win and talking like he expected hopkins to win all along and it was an easy fight when a few weeks ago he said pascal was putting him to sleep.

nothing wrong with critisizing a fighter but if u pick them to lose bad and they win big u need to give them props and not make excuses. again props for speaking his mind to hopkins' face though.

Atlas is a bit of a prick at times but he does know the game of boxing and loves the game and you know what at least he speaks his mind and he told Hopkins his opinion (even though they werent both too far apart) and didnt suck his balls also he did give Hopkins his props.Give me Atlas anyday over those other guys at ESPN who call Mayweather a coward the whole time but if they were doing an interview with him they wouldnt so anything like that to him
