    martinez avoiding super middleweights?

why are people actin as if martinez is scared to fight at 168 when he says that his body needs to grow into the weight and that he will fight at 168 in the future

BoxingScene.com spoke to southpaw WBC "emeritus" middleweight champion Sergio Martinez for this Q&A one day after Saturday's eighth-round knockout of southpaw WBO junior middleweight belt holder, Sergiy Dzinziruk.

Lol two years ago he was still fighting at 154, now he's the MW champ and has made 3 title defenses, but is ducking SMWs?

Give the man more time if he wants to move up again.

U know what's funny about that is that most of those guys were saying Cotto should fight him.Cotto, who isn't as great as Floyd & Manny. The 2 greater fighters are too small. But the far less greater fighter in Cotto should take the challenge that the greater fighters won't.How does that work??

Dude 36.5 year. How many years would you want him "grow" into that weight?
The dude is walking around 170lb.

Its because he is on about fighting Manny or Floyd to become the P4P#1, but it just doesnt work like that. I dont see Manny or Floyd as 154lb fighters. Manny, for example, is no more a LMW than Ray Leonard was a LHW.

If he takes time to grow up to that weight and can knock one of the guys off there then he makes a very strong case. My only problem with that is he is already 36 and whilst he is in the best run of form of his career, the reality is that he probably doesnt have too much time left.
