How do you rate the quality of Boxing right now?

I rated it a 3.If boxing has Pacman & Floyd as the face of boxing,it isn't delivering. But if the hard core fan intruduces the casual fan to events like B-Hop making history against Pascal in 1 of B-Hops most exciting fights & Ortiz taking Berto's belt when Floyd & Manny wouldn't,people will see that boxing is ****in delivering.Comment

I would rate boxing as a 1 or 2 right now. Some fights are getting made but you have promoters blocking fights for personal reasons and only allowing certain fights if a fighter signs a fight deal with them. Then you have match ups that shine has been knocked off of cause a fighter loses then has to be rebuilt when the main fight everybody wanted could have been made. One of the best of this era if not the best is not fighting at all and the other fighter considered the best is basically pulling the same **** another fighter gets crucified for but he gets loved for it so he keeps doing it. Fighters not fighting because they have a sense of entitlement when they haven't earned a damn thing. Then you have heavyweight brothers who are signing to fight fighters but the fighters don't know which brother they will face. WTF kind of **** is that.
Never seen a sport so great and ****ed up all at the same time!!!Comment

This blood thirsty instant result generation is the problem. Not the fight game. The emergance of MMA has altered what new "fight" fans consider a successful and impressive showing. Club fighting with knockouts automatically equals being a badass. There's no appreciation for the art anymore. People use to sit around and watch a fighter box for 15 rounds and as long as he didn't BS in the ring, they left satified. Nowadays, if someone uses movement and utilize distance and foot placement instead of standing in the middle of the ring slugging at each other, it's considered "boring". We've even reached the point where guys sitting behind a computer screen who has probably been in 4-5 fights tops in his life, feel comfortable calling a pro fighter who has dedicated a decade plus of his life fighting championship level competition a coward. So while the fight game is still chugging along, the fans have become so warped that they no longer can appreciate the art form.
Football and other "faster" ways of making money and obtaining fame has depleted the Heavyweight division. Couple that with the fact of boxing's stubborness to create a Super Heavyweight Division, that's the only eye sore with the sport.Comment

Solid 3 for now, but it has the patential to get better once Pac and May disappear. Yuriorkis Gamboa, Sergio Martinez, and most of all NONITO DONAIRE.... Those guys have a lot of competition and can carry the sport on their backs for a long timeComment

I showed one of my friends the 6th round of Ortiz vs Berto (ya know... THE MOST EXCITING ROUND OF THE YEAR, and maybe even the past couple years).I rated it a 3.If boxing has Pacman & Floyd as the face of boxing,it isn't delivering. But if the hard core fan intruduces the casual fan to events like B-Hop making history against Pascal in 1 of B-Hops most exciting fights & Ortiz taking Berto's belt when Floyd & Manny wouldn't,people will see that boxing is ****in delivering.
His response.... "Oh my God... those guys have no punching power"Comment

Don't lump all promoters and fighters in with Pacquiao Arum and Floyd those 3(2 right now because thankfully Floyd is retired) are the problem.Comment
