First of all whippin Chavez Jr wont prove anything, beating Paul Williams even after the Martinez KO means a hell of alot more. I think Williams would come out throwing his combos and Cotto would be slightly defensive more studying with the jab. If Cottos ballance and footwork truely have improved form Ste***** training then I feel Cotto Left hook will come on in rd2. Williams is good because of repetition and physical gifts but his boxing is limited. I think Cotto takes by D or late TKO. Whats your take on this showdown at 154.

I think Cotto's best bet is to go to the body early... Honestly, I dont think too many people can go toe to toe with Williams' stamina and Cotto IMO is among that group.
The WORST mistake Cotto could make is to try and headhunt Williams. Sure, Williams is hittable, but I dont think Cotto really wants to get in a punch for punch war. Williams is kinda crazy, he went punch for punch with Martinez (who i think is good, not exceptionally great) in that first fight and walked thru some straight ROCKETS to the chin and gave as good as he got. I dont think Cotto has the same power as Martinez. Williams never stops throwing, he is busy, and has shown (in spurts) some pretty good head movement, ability to box and some power when he really sits on his punches. Although Williams doesnt have the Pacman type of power, he has enough, coupled with 100+ punches a round, to really give Cotto problems IMO.
Personally, I see Williams winning a decision. But it could go either way. -
Personally I think Paul Williams punches in bunches gonna break Cotto similar to Pac and Marga relentlessness when they fought him.Comment

Cotto fans always wanna get the guy killed, put him in the worst position possible lmao. At this point i'd rather see Williams fight Pavlik over Cotto. Would be a more competitive bout cause IMO Williams kills Cotto no problem, unless Sergio cracked his chin in those fights and somehow Williams takes a punch like Jones now. As dude said above in the 1st fight Williams ate an insane amount of hard punches and the KO was horrific worse than any of Jones KO's to me,I thought Williams was dead at first his eyes wide open not moving. Cotto's one and only shot would be if he cannot take any clean punches anymore.Comment

Paul Willaims is an overrated Welter/Junior-Middle because of his freakish height and reach. Please look round four of the cintron fight before the tangle of legs Cintron (who seems to get so much bad publicity here but is actually solid at 154.. beat Sergio) throws a vicious right hook over the top and Williams begins to do a chicken leg dance, the guy doesn't have a good chin at all IMO (Sergio round 2 put to sleep.) Don't get me wrong Williams can **** with some of the better Welters and Junior-Middles but against a guy like Cotto he really will be outboxed especially since Miguel has a much better corner with him now in Steward etc.
Also, Miguel Cotto doesn't need to fight a guy like Williams in terms of a 'make or break' scenario he can beat the winner of Chavez Zbik and then try to unify Junior-Middle.Comment
