According to various reports, a deal is very close for unbeaten Filipino lightweight Mercito "No Mercy" Gesta (21-0, 11KOs) to sign a promotional pact with Top Rank. Gesta has been building a following in Arizona and the California area. He is starting to sit down on his punches, scoring seven knockouts in his last eight ring appearances. The contracts have not been signed, but reportedly a deal will be done before the week is out.
