Comments Thread For: Sergio Martinez: Mayweather Would Last, Pacquiao I'd KO

2010's Fighter of the Year, Sergio "Maravilla" Martinez (47-2-2, 26KOs), is much like newly crowned WBC light heavyweight champion Bernard Hopkins; as good as it gets in the sport of boxing. Martinez is a fighter's fighter. A throwback pugilist who doesn't weigh his options for future rumbles against opposition that presents the lowest risk to his victory category yet garnishes the most money pocketed. He isn't interested in padding records and claiming belt trinkets either. Instead, he is only interested in being great and seeking the toughest fights possible, win or lose. Does he realize he's the MW champion... talking about a 5 foot 5 welterweight?

Why don't you focus UP instead of DOWN.

I honestly think its the other way around but nobody knows him more than himself, so whatever works for him.

Sergio knows the game, he can see through Team Pacquiao's smoke and mirror act.

Agreed, he should move up and fight Andre Ward or atleast Andre Dirrell.

Though I agree Martinez beats both, I do believe Mayweather would last.

Maravilla stating the obvious, and something that every true boxing fan knows. Way more interested in seeing SerMa fight super six winner or some ridiculous p4p circus vs. BHop. Him chasing Floyd around the ring for 12 rounds or destroying Pac within 3 rounds doesnt seem all that exciting to me as a boxing fan.
