What wouldn't have happened? he was champ long before then and Hops refused to fight him.

Hop wasnt fighting at 175 exclusively..... Dawson was on a high horse then, now that he's been grounded this fight probably looks better to Hopkins i cant blame him for ****, if he followed gayzaghes method he woulda been done fighting 10 yrs ago....

Dawson fans and casual fans shouldn't expect anything from Hop but the unexpected, dude knows what he's doing if he doesnt fight Dawson i may be a lil salty but not mad, cuz he's earned the opportunity to call all his shots!

I feel you!!....but there's still other significant fights for Chad...Cloud has been calling him out for a minute now...B.Hop is dam near 50...thats a lose-lose for Chad IMO...but like he said, its about the name "Bernard Hopkins" being on his resume...I hope Chad has plan "B" just in case the oldman shows him the middle finger...that would be cold but on the real...I don't expect that to happen...I expect B.Hop to give him a dance....but NOT if he can get Bute next....you know how they play that risk-reward game and call it business

Agreed. I think Dawson-Hopkins for the crown, then Cloud next as he rightfully deserves it.

It's very simple fight Chad or you are a punk. I don't hear anyone giving Bradley the benefit of the doubt about being the top dog in the division and not having to take the fight. Chad agreed to push back his contracted rematch with Pascal to get a guaranteed shot at the winner. Bhop just said on the Jim Rome show that Chad is next, and I'll take him at his word, but he is a punk and a biatch if he fights anyone else.

for real?!?....I want the fight to happen as well and I also know it will be a waste of time as far as entertainment value...but I DO feel it is NECESSARY for that fight to happen....its like going to get a tooth pulled...its gonna be painful but its something that MUST be done....all I want from the board is that ppl ACCEPT the fight and the outcome for what it is...don't cry and say that was boring or a wack fight....just take it for what it is...B.Hop WILL win that one...but the momentum he has going will take a blow due to the non-excitement he and Chad's styles will generate....I guess we'll just have to wait and see...but I can see the backlash ALREADY!!!

Hopkins/Dawson is the best fight to make at light heavyweight. Just like Khan/Bradley is at junior welter and Pac/Floyd is at welterweight and Canelo/Chavez is for Mexico.
