    Meet DaVarryl Williamson…….

    Meet DaVarryl Williamson……. from tosboxing.com

DaVarryl "Touch of Sleep" Williamson is a rising star amongst the Heavyweight class. A "small heavyweight" at only 6’4" and 220 lbs., DaVarryl has already established himself as a contender. Since turning pro in July 2000, Williamson has had 25 professional fights, and has run his record to 22-3 with an astonishing 18 KO’s.

Before starting his pro career, DaVarryl had a very long and distinguished amateur career, one that did not begin until the age of 25. At a point were some boxers are getting out of the sport, DaVarryl was just getting involved.

Although DaVarryl’s boxing talents were not discovered until the age of 25 they were developed enough after two short years to win him a spot as the 1996 United States Olympic Boxing Team Alternate. While training for the Olympics, DaVarryl was a student athlete at Northern Michigan University’s Olympic Education Program.

This allowed him the chance to discover true passions in his life: learning and teaching. It was not until after the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta that DaVarryl realized what a big decision he had to make. He had the skills to turn professional, but in remaining amateur he had the opportunity to further his education and continue to work toward his Olympic dream.

A decision was made, DaVarryl would continue to compete as an amateur and work toward his goal of Olympic Gold in 2000. Unfortunately, DaVarryl was questionably out-pointed in the gold medal match of the Olympic Trials, falling just shy of an Olympic spot.

Disappointed by the outcome, DaVarryl decided it was time to turn pro, and see what he could do to shake up the Heavyweight ranks.

I'll tell you what. Rahman would get his ass knocked out by this former sparring partner if they fought in a pro fight.

            What the deal with Williamson?

He was scared ****less of a scared Wlad and lost. Lost to Mesi and Byrd...

Please, he stands no chance against Peter, Brewster, Vitali, and I see Wlad beating the **** out of him in a rematch.

            .....................................man the division does suck.
