And hopkins was man enough to demand a rematch but joe didn't want to (his life, I wont blame him). So hopkins moved on to the "next best whiteboy" available which was kelly pavlik who calzaghe chose not to fight instead going after jones and the rest is history.
Calzaghe chose not to face Pavlik because he deemed him an over-hyped, slow, one dimensional, plodder, who would inevitably tarnish his legacy. Hopkins however, saw Pavlik as an opportunity to add yet another soft mark to his legacy, one that is filled with excessive head buts and holding, against many an opponent who has yet to prove themselves as "legitimate" at that weight. And 'the rest' as they say, "is history".

Utter crap, I've watched the fight several times (the unedited and unbiased version) and it always leads me to the same conclusion, joe Calzaghe won that fight!
You cannot win a fight by excessive head-butting, holding, feigning injury and not throwing enough punches, it just doesn't work that way. Despite GBP's attempts to win the result from right under Joe's feet (the pick of Bryd as judge and Joke I always seem to favour the black American fighter Cortez), Calzaghe managed to win by point scoring against Hopkins. If your opponent won't commit themselves to actually fighting, then don't over commit yourself either, and just potshot and point score your way to a 8 rounds to 4 victory. Belief that this fight went any other way, is just yet another example of the bitter and delusional kind of hearsay, that consistently seems to find it's way onto Youtube!

Pavlik was a 3-1 fav...and many predicted he would KO B.Hop and end his career....Freddie Roach even feared for B.Hop's health ...anyway, Joe fought Roy...explain that...my bad you did...he saw Roy as an opportunity to add yet ANOTHER soft mark to his legacy...my man

The soft mark was a slow, one dimensional, slugger, with no proven track record at the weight he was fighting at (a whole 10 pounds north of what he was used to). Calzaghe made more money against a fighter past his prime (yet still a greater test than Pavlik!) and produced a dominating performance that would later eclipse the average one by Hopkins against Jones.
Remember, the only reason that Hopkins was thought to have been too old to fight Pavlik, was because how Calzaghe made him look in his previous fight. Those odds you stated must have in Youngstown, because anyone with even the remotest idea about boxing should have known the odds were in favour of Hopkins and not the over rated donkey opposite him. Bye bye little boy!
