How about ESPN is still holding on to Hopkins stinging remarks against McNabb?

ESPN is made up of a lot of former professional football and basketball players. And Hopkins just slighted a successful fellow black man weeks before his match. Hopkins should have kept his mouth shut because ESPN was pouring praises for him before his fight but then the whole controversy erupted and it made some people annoyed/angry at Hopkins remarks.

So, yea, until Hopkins apologize to McNabb then ESPN is not going to take him seriously which in turns hurts the boxing coverage. Think about it, ESPN doesn't have a lot of former boxers or trainers working for ESPN. The small boxing team they have is what they have unlike the MLB, NBA, NFL, and NHL they have tons of announcers from former players, coaches, and whatnot.

Hey you reap what you sow. And Hopkins was an idiot for it.

I heard some shit like this on the radio after the fight on fight night, and I was fuming.

Basically, the guy said Hopkins win was, and I'm quoting here ; "further proof of how sad the sport is, that a 46 year old man became Champion of the World".

      I couldn't help but think.....

You think these guys would've said the same thing if instead of a boxing match, it was, say ; Brett Favre winning a Superbowl championship at that age? Or Tiger winning a Masters at that age?

I think in any other more "mainstream" sport it would've been openly embraced. But because it's boxing (and because most people on the radio know nothing about boxing), it clearly has to be a sad state, right?
