Stop telling stories. Arum agreed to pay Marquez 1.5mil in a rematch and instead went and low-balled him with an offer of 750k.There's something seriously wrong with your memory, my friend. After the first Manny/Juan fight which was declared a draw due to an error in scoring by one judge (which deprived Manny of victory), Manny's camp within a month, immediately offered Juan a re-match for a six figure purse. What did Juan Manuel Marquez did? He packed his bags and went to Indonesia. Probably, his head was still spinning due to the three knockdowns he suffered during the fight. After venturing into several not so profitable fight, he realized that Manny holds the key to riches. He hounded Manny ever since. Your insinuation that Manny is avoiding Marquez is pure fantasy.
I wonder why ?Comment

Pac-haters rewriting history to dis the Pacman
I really don't see how people can keep saying Pacquiao was fighting has beens. People tend to forget that in the pre-fight analyses (not the hype, but the so-called experts' POV) in some of these fights, Pac wasn't given a chance. Specially against Golden Boy.
And he was beating defending champions. Not past champions BUT ACTIVE, DEFENDING CHAMPIONS! That's how he got the 8 belts.
David Diaz was the CHAMP, remember? Then Pac annihilated him. You're telling me the champ wasn't the best fight he could find in that division?
Against Dela Hoya, people were saying it was a joke of a mismatch because Dela Hoya was too big and too good for Pac. That it was a stunt match in favor of DLH. But when Pac made mincemeat of Oscar, people couldn't believe it so now they are saying it was a bad match because Oscar was washed up. He wasn't until then.
Against Hatton, people were saying Hatton a good match. He was still at the height of his popularity then. Heck, he was far from being viewed as a has-been until AFTER pac laid him out in two. Hatton wasn't considered washed up until AFTER pac knocked him out.
Against Cotto, well, this was a good fight. Cotto was a top contender and put up a decent fight but Pac was better. Haters just choose to ignore this simply cause Pac won.
Against Clottey, can't blame Pac for this one. Clottey chickened out in the ring. He actually knocked Pac back with one of his punches but refused to engage. Clottey had the skills, not the heart. He was in it for the payday. This was a bad fight.
Against Margarito, guy had all the advantages and was competitive at the start. Just couldn't go the distance.
Against Mosley, well...that we saw coming. What was only disappointing was Pac's failure to knock Mosley out.
The real problem with Pac is that he's become such a big pay date that boxers are just taking the money for the sake of it. Not Pac's fault.
For the record, it was Mayweather who declined to fight Pac after Pac agreed last year to take random tests saying "He was on vacation from boxing."
As for JMM. JMM was the one begging for the fight, Pac was okay either way. It wasn't Pac who was refusing. (Pac was actually wondering if anyone would be interested so left it up to Arum) Arum just waited for the opportunity to use Pac to bait JMM out of DLH's stable. Which he's done!Comment

Here, I'll show you.....
Manny Pacquiao's last 7 opponents.....
Lately, a number of observers have commented that all of Manny Pacquiao's recent opponents have either been old, faded, or inept. Let's take a closer look at 27%'s recent fights, and see if there is any truth to that allegation.....
Accusations leveled at Pacquiao include.....
* Manny will not fight a skilled boxer
* Manny will not fight a skilled counter-puncher
* Manny will not fight anybody who is in their prime
* Manny will not fight anybody who is on top of their game
* Manny will not fight anybody who is coming off a win
* Manny will not fight anybody without a distinct advantage
Let's apply that criteria to 27%'s last 7 opponents, and see how they stack up.
====================================
David Diaz - Not a top fighter, faded, disadvantaged.....
* Manny will not fight a skilled boxer
* Manny will not fight a skilled counter-puncher
* Manny will not fight anybody who is in their prime
* Manny will not fight anybody who is on top of their game
* Manny will not fight anybody without a distinct advantage
Oscar De La Hoya - Shot, drained, and shrink-wrapped.....
* Manny will not fight anybody who is in their prime
* Manny will not fight anybody who is on top of their game
* Manny will not fight anybody who is coming off a win
* Manny will not fight anybody without a distinct advantage
Ricky Hatton - Not a top fighter, faded, and disadvantaged.....
Miguel Angel Cotto - Badly faded / shopworn, and disadvantaged.....
* Manny will not fight anybody who is in their prime
* Manny will not fight anybody who is on top of their game
* Manny will not fight anybody who is coming off a win
* Manny will not fight anybody without a distinct advantage
Joshua Clottey - Not a top fighter, and strangely innocuous.....
* Manny will not fight a skilled boxer
* Manny will not fight a skilled counter-puncher
* Manny will not fight anybody who is on top of their game
* Manny will not fight anybody who is coming off a win
* Manny will not fight anybody without a distinct advantage
Antonio Margarito - Not a top fighter, faded, disadvantaged.....
Shane Mosley - Faded, shopworn, and disadvantaged.....
* Manny will not fight anybody who is in their prime
* Manny will not fight anybody who is on top of their game
* Manny will not fight anybody who is coming off a win
* Manny will not fight anybody without a distinct advantage
====================================
All-in-all, that is a damn shabby line-up for a supposed P4P fighter, especially when you consider all of the advantages afforded to 27% during those fights..... e.g. fighting for a vacant JMW title, at catch-weight, against a BUM, and using 8oz gloves
Now, I can understand a top fighter taking the odd bout against a lesser opponent.....
but EVERY opponent in your last 7 fights?
How fkn lame is that ?
The last time 27% fought a live dog was Marquez II, and according to a significant number of trainers/fighters/journalists/analysts..... HE LOST!!
SUMMARY: There is no question that 27% is a manufactured fighter, with a padded resume'..... quite simply, just more Top Rank smoke and mirrors.Comment
Glad to see that you appreciate Ariza's intellect JB
