    Alfonso Gomez

The win was very impressive. I was on front row and he did blast Green away. Took Sergio Mora 7 rounds to do the same against Green. The elbow is ok and I'd say throw out the Cotto loss and you have one of the top welterweights in Alfonso. In fact, maybe Cotto would like to give Alfonso another shot. Props to Alfonso for always fighting hard and developing his game. Look forward to a big fight, maybe on the Manny P vs Marquez card.

I always wondered why Gomez's career didn't do more. To me, he was one of the top ww's but he never got any coverage or hype. Like you said too, take away the Cotto loss and he is sitting at the top of the talent pool.

It because he lost the contender, people especially hardcore fans consider that show a joke, not to mention he must have horrible advisors because either he is fighting no names or he is fighting past prime talent.
remember boxing is a business first they go where the dollars take them, thats why a bum like Alvarez holds a world strap.

He has talent but he needs to seriously step up his level of competition. I don't know who his advisors are but they need to get this kid in with a top level guy.

He was coming back off a long layoff, hence the level of competition was low this time. He wants to get another fight lined up quickly and then a big fight of some type, though I imagine he'd take the big fight first if it was available. He mentioned Alvarez or Ortiz after the Green fight.

Its a shame he had to pull out against Chavez jr.

He's a talente dguy that needs to put his career in overdrive before his skills vanish.

He even made a video about it. I cannot speak a word of Spanish, but it is Alfonso singing it and it seems to be about Chavez Jr. His "stage" name is Diablo Luna in the band Hy3rid

I was looking forward to him beating Chavz Jr. Was bummed when he pulled out.
