Pascal was worse this fight but .....

    Hopkins gets more credit?

We all know Hopkins was robbed the first fight, but why is everyone jumping up and down like he did something different this fight compared to the 1st, well he did 2 things.

    1. Push-ups
    2. No KD

Before AND after the 1st fight certain people were flaming how bad pascal is and that he is a bum.

But now that Hopkins got the W now the same certain people are saying Pascal was the #1 best LHW out there and Hopkins is GOAT.

    Pick one stick to it.

My opinion is Hopkins is ageing great fighter who beat a prime good fighter. He beat him the first time, but got robbed so I am not surprised that he won this one.

Hes the oldest world champion in History.

Maybe that could be the reason?

yea, but hats mostly just a meaningless stat. OK, when I say meaningless, I dont mean we shouldnt give him credit, but I mean in reality all that actually happened was...

he beat Jean Pascal at 46.

A guy beating ANY top fighter at 46 is impressive, no doubt. Dont take me the wrong way.

but personally I clearly thought Hopkins had already beaten Pascal anyway, and I felt most everyone else thought so too. I, like the topic creator, am just surprised that Hopkins is getting such a huge amount of credit this time around for beating a guy he honestly already beat. He should have already gotten it the first time around.

and technically I thought Holyfield very clearly beat Valuev, and he was 46. Although maybe Hopkins was older vs Pascal than Holyfield was against Valuev...?

it was the push ups for me and holyfield beating valuev doesn't mean as much because valuev is a giant bum. literally.

Because the first was tainted. I thought Hops was robbed as well. But with that said we were also robbed of that post fight high feeling. This time we got it.

And being honest Valuev makes Pascal look like Sugar Ray Robinson. Hes a huge piece of garbage. Literally.

Hopkins will be 50 in 4 years. We cant lose site of that. He beat an oppoennt who was bigger, faster, stronger, 20 years younger, fresher, harder puncher etc. It was amazing to watch him comeback and sweep rounds at will.

            Skills > Age.

Hopkins relies on his skill and tactics to win so as long as his body keeps up he will have longevity.

RJJ relied on his athleticism to win so as his speed > his win ratio >.

I am glad steak see's it as I do.
