How good is Hopkins chin?

Hopkins has never been knocked out and is 46, Margarito has been knocked out twice by the age of 32-33. He couldn't take a WW's hardest shots. Hopkins took a Light Heavy weights bombs, got hurt, but took them.

IMO, Hopkins surpassed any one from 2000-2010, in the chin department, judging by his last two fights+his whole career.

How would you rate Hopkins chin? Do you rate Hopkins' chin as highly as most do? He's no Oliver McCall but he can definitely take a punch better than most.

Hard to say.

He's so good at controlling punches that he never really takes flush ones. The real test of a chin is if it gets clocked. He took 2 big shots from Pascal and while he was hurt, he recovered very quickly both times.

But he smothers punches reducing power, rolls them, turns his head the right way, etc. So hard to tell how good his chin really is.

Honestly though, if Hopkins took as many flush shots from Pascal as Margarito did from Shane or Pacquiao, he would've been out sooner. Margarito doesn't roll with punches and is easy to hit. His chin is his defense, whereas Hopkins rarely gets caught flush. You can't compare Hopkins and Margarito. Hopkins definitely has a good chin, but not among the best in the sport. Hopkins was spot on last night when he said that it's hit and not get hit, but he'll take a good shot when he has to.
