    I think its time

I really think with all the speculation that can go on now about PED they need to make using Olympic style random testing standard for every boxing match. Why should it be open to negotiations where this level of testing is included. If we are really interested in making sure these match are as fair as possible why not? would anyone have any legit reasons as to why they think this shouldn't be done?

I'm not sure that it's financially viable to adopt sports-wide OST. But it would be nice to have it for the big fights (i.e. the televised fights).

i said no to it simply because implementing it would bankrupt the entire sport. its expensive enough that even Golden Boy which championed the tests in behalf of Floyd NEVER IMPLEMENTED IT THEMSELVES AFTER FLOYD'S FIGHTS.

what, you think that kind of tests are free?

i'm 100% in favor of better testing which is SUSTAINABLE. and FINANCIALLY VIABLE.

i've heard that better tests are currently under development and hopefully, they'd implement it as soon as its available.

I agree with what you are saying yes at the lower levels the test might be too expensive to have for up and coming fights but what about title fights? or the fights between top contenders? maybe the sanctioning bodies should be involved. at the top level i don't feel the financial argument can hold water just because when top level people for the higher prize fights can walk away with millions its hard to argue that "well we just can't afford it" when someone like a manny or floyd (damn i prolly shouldnt have said their names) can get 20 mil for a fight.

If it's 365 days a year, 24h hours a day starting when the fighter turns professional, then yes.

Wow good point i didn't think about the fact that most of these guys who use it cycle on and off to have it out of their system by the time they are tested. I would imagine the most you could do as a sanctioning body is to say if you are in our top ten to be viable to challenge for the title you must submit to a certain number of off fight tests.

I think anything that can genuinely improve fairness and cleanness in the sport should be implemented. OST can only do good so, financial reasons aside, I don't see why it shouldn't be.

Although I would love to see this horribly corrupt sport cleaned up quite a bit, I feel like sport-wide testing of all athletes just isn't viable for several reasons. Financial reasons being one issue. Another issue would be having several sanctioning bodies, promotional companies, and even countries get together and make agreements on things like this.

I do however feel that title fights and fights that would involve top contenders would be a viable and sustainable method of testing. Again though getting all the parties I mentioned to cooperate would be almost impossible in this sport.

No it should be every fighter or else the commission will be liable for any damages and will be open lawsuit and other legal actions. If there's a fight between two lower level fighter that resulted in death or paralyzed then then the family of victim can file civil action on why there's no OST done.

Ideally OST is a good way to really clean up the sport. However economically it's very expensive. And this is a year round test.
