Cleverly is still learning. Physically he is a beast, but he doesn't know how to fight in a controlled and measured manner just yet. He fight recklessly when he doesn't have to. Having studied for a degree and boxed at the same time, he still needs a few more fights to adjust to the boxing lifestyle and tighten up his holes. However, once he does so, I'm fully confident that he will become a major player in the LHW division. He's the most talented guy in the division at the moment, and has far more potential than Cloud and tonnes more heart than Dawson. These strengths will soon come to the fore. In the mean time, I'm looking forward to Cleverly dedicating himself to the craft of boxing and learning the ropes with each passing fight. If he commits himself to boxing fully, then I'm sure he will become a big threat to the other champions and contenders in the division.

This is like saying, once Dawson grows killer instict,he will destroy anyone...
You can't just place certain assets where you assume they will get better at...they are either there NOW or not.

The sad thing is,I can't see Cleverly beating anyone of those mentioned.Cleverly has sooooooo many flaws,it would take him forever to be good.He has fast hands, but that chin is getting cracked against Dawson or Cloud-Cleverly squares up too much, lacks movement (upper body and foot) and has crap defense-he wants to show off his chin, but gets wobbled by feather fisted fighters. He is an accident waiting to happen.

Ha,cleverly is so far from being ready for any real champions!.

he will and needs to be facing a few more softer defences and to try and improve and actually box!.

he should just wait for bhop to school bute and dawson and retire.

You're not ready son, you haven't even fought a world class opponent yet - but remember those words and hopefully someday you will start fighting the very best.

No it's not. You can develop skills over a certain period of time otherwise no boxer would ever improve. Cleverly has the basic toolset and he can add to it over time with the right fights and the right training methods. However, you're right in one respect. You can't develop a heart or fighting spirit and that's why Dawson will struggle to beat the best in the division.

Cleverly walked through everything that Murat had so I doubt his chin is a problem. He just needs to stop fighting recklessly. Amir Khan learnt how to do it, and so can Cleverly. And I don't think that Cleverly not being able to beat the fighters I mentioned is a sad thing at all. That's the kind of attitude that's killing boxing. The saddest thing would be if these boxers never laced up the gloves at all so we couldn't find out who's the best.

Cleverly has looked bad in his last two performances, personaly i think he lost to Nadjib Mohammedi (this is the fella to look out for). That stoppage that night was a joke and even though im a brit i hope cleverly get "exposed" when he steps up.

Cleverly should have that "world" title burned. He would do better to not be a paper champion and learn his game.

Harsh, to say the very least.

So you’re saying that he shouldn’t accept because his scheduled opponent has now been proven a coward?(I don’t use that lightly)

That arguments as convincing as Braehmers.

Ha ha ha. Brits are too much. Stay in England "champ" you will end up looking up at the roof like your countymen if you come to the big leagues. Stay in the minor leagues over there tosser.
