Nope, Dawson is too fast and crafty, plus rangy, and he Dawson dont care if he have to stink the fight to get the W. Bernard Maybe able to bully Dawson though, cuz Dawson is soft,dont like pressure at all and dont have any fire when he fights.

Dawson sucks anyways, but styles makes fights!!! Dawson wins a boring ass fight!

Hopkins should try Dawson first, Dawson is still dangerous, but not at Bute level. Hopkins looked good last night, 46 year old good. Bute is looking at the winner from the super six, and whoever wins(froch/ward) will be a challenge for him....

Hopkins isnt dumb. He's trying to capitalize off of the current popularity in Canadian boxing. There is absolutely no opponent who Hops can fight in the states that will create more buzz and pack a venue moreso than a fight with Bute in Canada. Had Hopkins fought Pascal anywhere in the states, it wouldnt have even drawn half the crowd that showed up at the Bell Center last night.

I was in Montreal for the 1st Hopkins/Pascal fight. After unsuccesfully trying to score tickets for the fight, I opted to just watch the fight at a sports bar. It took me about 2hrs to find a bar that had available seating for the fight. It was insane.

P.S....... He should forget about fighting "Boring Chad Dawson". Chad will stink the fight out. It will be boring and as a result would diminish Hopkins new found popular and exciting fighting style.

I think that Dawson is still the more dangerous fight for Hopkins, and I doubt that a matchup with Bute will ever happen. Bute has to look at solidifying his standing at 168, I doubt that he will risk getting beaten up by an old man at this point.

He has the Super-6 winner to think about as well as a contract with Shotime.

That fight just seems a bit far away at this point.

Hopkins is a legend, I am a huge fan, and I gave up doubting him a long time ago..... but from a fans perspective I still dont know how wise it would be to make any long-term plans for his career at this point

2-3 years is a looong way away at this stage.

The heads at HBO only care about what draws viewers, and after Dawson's yaaawning performance yesterday, I doubt they'll make a big fuss if Hopkins chooses not to fight him in exchange for a more exciting opponent. If Dawson wanted to make a statement last night, he would have fought with more eagerness and intensity. Instead he was content with merely outpointing his opponent to a boring decision.
