I know it's the year of the upset, but it's getting crazy in boxing and on top of the upset list two country are fighting for the #1 spot.

Luckily for Canada Lucian Bute refuses to fight anyone with a pulse so they don't have to watch his sorry ass get knocked out by a live opponent and leave the country without a champ.

You neglected to mention Steve Molitor. Candian world champ who was schooled and badly beaten by the same opponent he had already easily defeated twice.

Totally forgot about Steve, I think if Bute loses this year, Canada will be #1 hands down

Canada doesn't have many world-class boxers, and in fact hasn't had many good boxers during the past 20 years.

Puerto Rico at least has Miguel Cotto, and have had greats in the past 10 or 20 years like Trinidad.

Canada just has Lucian Bute (and he's really a Romanian) plus a couple of decent fighters like Jean Pascal and Troy Ross.

Both had a rough year, but I expect them to come back.
