First off, I was born in Tijuana but was raised in Oxnard all my life, and second I do think you must be Half White and Half Mexican to be considered Mexican American. I dont belive that just because you were born in that country you have to be considered as that nationality. If my mom and dad are Mexican and so forth in my family why would it all change just becauseI was born somewhere else? So if my family was on vacation in China and I was born there then im half Chinese!? I say NO!

Yes, if you were born on Chinese soil you would be Chinese. Victor Ortiz, Brandon Rios, Robert Guerrero are all Americans. It's the same thing as people that came from Italy or any European nation, and had children in America. Yes, you still have Italian heritage(for example) but you are American. It's not that hard to understand what defines a person as American. In fact, I consider people in your case, that lived in America all their life, despite not being born here, American as well. For example Donaire, he is obviously filipino first but he has lived here so long, adapted American culture that he is also American in my eyes. I don't know why so many think it's bad to be American, it's a great thing to be American and if people don't like it, move out.
