What did degale do wrong?

My stream was very laggy so i couldn't see what was happening, but it seemed to me that on of james plans was to fight groves on the inside. I think he tried it in the first round but couldn't. Which leads to the question of what exactly their game plan was, wouldn't be surprised they degale thought he was a floyd mayweather/andre ward who could just adapt as the fight went on.

I thought DeGale was better inside.

But he may not of hurt him in an obvious way but Groves definitely kept him honest.

Degale just stalked and stalked without throwing any punches at all. He seemed to constantly be looking for that one big shot/counter punch and threw almost no combinations. Furthermore he didn't know how to cut off the ring and just followed Groves around. Thirdly he didn't work the body alone and was head hunting only while Groves was working him with nonstop combinations.

Employing his current trainer. Inept and clueness. Degale needs to start a fresh, unless he wants to carry on fighting at domestic level with his current stable.

Groves was more disciplined and confused Degale for the whole 12 rounds. It was a great defensive display by Groves.

i was very surprised with the headhunting actually, i always imagined degale would be like bernard hopkins in this fight...going to the body and doing damage especially in clinches. Seems like he has trouble with movers??

goes to show how much i overrated degale......thought he had the skills to dismantle groves on the inside instead knowing groves moved well. but then again thats an advanced skillset that takes years
