Who gets more out of winning on saturday, Hopkins or Pascal?

Who would it do more for to win this huge fight tomorrow night?

Bernard Hopkins for once again becoming the Light Heavyweight Champion of the world and being the oldest man to do it.

    Or.

Jean Pascal to prove he's really the real deal and that the Dawson fight was no accident, and to erase that draw last time out.

If Pascal wins, "he beat an old man" is what they'll say.

If Hopkins wins, he ups the record past Archie Moore, past George, to become the oldest man to win a professional, recognized World Boxing Championship. If he loses, "he was only an old man".

Hopkins is sitting pretty in a can't lose situation.......

Thats the funny part though. I'm actually starting to give Joe Calzaghe more credit for the Hopkins win. It use to be a B- level win because Hopkins is still dangerous because he relies on skills not physical assets like speed, height, or power. I think it went from B- to an A- win. I think Hopkins would have won when he was younger with more speed because it was more Calzaghe speed in his slaps that really beat Hopkins.

I would give credit to Pascal for winning just because of how good and close the first fight was. I'd give him an A- type of win if he does win as long as it's not a robbery. Beating somebody of Hopkins skill level is always impressive. Especially with no special physical asset intangibles to make him still relevant, it's all technique.

Hopkins is aiming to break a record, make history.

Pascal is aiming to redeem himself from the first whooping he got from Hopkins in his own backyard.

No question, Bernard Hopkins. He always has something to prove, ever since the Trinidad. Nobody ever thinks he can beat anybody. Hopkins has been proving every one wrong since his mid 30's.
