Diaconu ain't bad, he holds wins over James Crawford, Ricardo Hoye, 21-0 Chris Henry, & Omar Sheika. His only losses like Dawson is to Pascal. (Diaconu also defeated Sergio Martinez in the amatuer back in 1997)

He doesn't have to, I believe he'll still get hopkins or pascal regardless if he looks good or mediocre, but he would definitely let the world know "he's back" if he looks awesome.

As a Fan i would love for him to look impressive, but as previous stated i dont think he has to for him to be able to get a Hopkins or another Pascal fight.
