Anyone think that Tarver would be lucky to KO Roy?

We all know Tarver KO'd Roy once, with a shot Roy didn't see and that Tarver himself had his eyes closed when he threw it. Additionally, I think Glen would be more likely to KO Roy again than Tarver since Tarver is a timer and Glen is a worker. Tarver is more of a counterpuncher and he might have just gotten lucky vs Roy. Even if Roy is damaged goods, does anyone here think that Tarver would probably be lucky to KO Roy again?

I don't think Tarver will land that big shot this time around, but let's not take anything away from Tarver...he measured Roy Jones perfectly....eyes closed or not...you don't land a shot like that out of luck.

Actually....Roy will be lucky to avoid a KO.

I think we're about to witness one of history's most GUNSHY performances.
Roy has been concussed in his last two fights, & has not been back in the ring since.
      Rust + two brutal KO's = timidity.

I think it needs a good referee to not be hesitant to step in and stop it because I can easily vision the great RJjnr on the ropes being punched and not fighting back and it will be a sad sight to see ..

I will be surpised if Tarver KO's him with one shot early like last time but I wont be surpised if he puts pressure on Roy then eventually takes him out.

Pressure from the opening bell and Jones will have little chance, if Tarver decideds to get lazy which he loves to do coming off a victory and decides to box in the center of the ring he could easily lose a decision.

Its up to Tarver how he wants this fight to end.

Superlightweight, I agree Glenn Johnson with his style stands the much better chance of repeating the KO.

i disagree with the statement that roy never saw the shot. RJJ even admited he saw the shot comming. this is scary because this means he just never moved away quickly enough. i mean it was a good text book counter straight with the left hand of of jones straight right. i'm a southpaw and i can tell you i love unleashing the left with an orthodox fighter.and even if tarver had his eyes closed he was looking for that counter the whole time.seriously jones does have a pattern and one of them is his right hand lead back up to 'check' left hook. it has worked for jones in the past because of his fast feet. but tarver's got fast hands as well and he's very rangy with his pinches (reggie johnson complained about this), plus jones is a step slower these days.you can bet tarver was working on that counter off of that jones combo on the gym .

for jones to win he needs to just circle and stay awy from the ropes and not try to press tarver but rather try to feint and get tarver to commit so jones can counter his counter. he can win this, i just don't know if he still has it though...

I would say it is much less likely but this all depends on Roy IMO...If he comes out like his old self it is probably going to be a long hard fought decision in which the best man that night wins but if Tarver smells any signs of weakness or if Roy seems unsure of himself a little Tarver could KO him again and lets not rule out an over cautious ref seeing how all this attention has been brought up about Roy being KOed in his last 2 fights it would not be shocking to me if The Ref ends up calling it as soon as Roy is in trouble hopefully not though but it is something you can't rule out.

I think we are going to see a different RJ. I remember watching the first Tarver fight and thinking Roy doesn't really look ok. He later won that fight (yes he won it, it was close but he won) but even he said he felt like he was a C in health.

RJ vs Tarver 2: After watching the first round I was like oh ****, another Roy dominating performance we are about to see. I was shocked when Tarver landed that lucky (yes I say lucky cause he had his eyes closed) shot.

RJ vs Johnson: I remember looking to my fiance and saying before the bell Jones doesn't even look like he wants to be there. We all know what happened.

All great champions have one fight in them left. I think has trained hard for this one and I truly expect Tarver to get mopped and maybe KTFO.

Some of you take Manny's word for being the gospel. He said sometimes a fighter could suffer after being KTFO twice in a row in a short time. Does he think he is the only one who can make a fighter (Lewis, Vlad) come back? Give me a break, that is horse****.

Prediction: If Roy comes out warmed up it will be bye bye Tarver. If he comes out dry and sunken eyes again, it will be a long, or short night. I am going with Roy TKOs Tarver in the 7th.

I don't see Tarver KO Jones with one punch this time. I think Tarver will attack Jones, they way Johnson did. He will stay on him & not give him any room. I think Tarver will KO Jones they way Johnson KO Jones. I don't see Jones winning this fight. After getting KO back to back, I will be surprised if Jones wins. The guy should not fight again. I think this might be his last fight. If he loses again, he better not fight again.

The limits of human endurance has caught up with old RJJ, youth will overwhelm age even if it has experience.

I see Tarver pressing and Jones gassing out.

After Jones Gassed out.. BOOM! KO for Tarver.

The only advantage Jones have is his feet. Both have power. But Tarver's range may well probably offset his quickness.
