I agree I think he needed a tune up. But the fact he took this fight with the left handed Lara in a way implies he wants Martinezs again.

He couldve went for a much easier opponent than Lara that HBO wouldve accepted.
Like who? Ishida? Well we know how that went. lol

    • WOW!!!! how can you not like or at the very least respect Paul Williams.

Out of all the Al Haymon fighters including Floyd. P-Will is the least protected. He's the one out of all that's willing to take the most risk...

PS not saying P-Will is as good or as great as Floyd. Just saying he takes more chances than Floyd.

      • If PW is in top form this fight might resemble the Winky fight.

        A little more competitive though.

          Yeah we do.

          Um HBO accepted.

I guess GBP pulled some strings to get their man in there.

It does not matter what level he was on. He suffered a very bad loss. He is now going into a dangerous fight while he has to be questioning himself somewhat. He deserves a confidence building fight, whether is it on an HBO undercard or ESPN headliner.

This would be a very exciting fight to have a couple fights down the road for Paul. He will now go into this fight somewhat gunshy and he does not deserve to be put in this position. There was once a time that a fighters management team took care of them. Now it seems they just want to cash out and get paid.

            • Good fight for Williams. If he wins and then he will definitely redeem himself.

And then they pulled the plug knowing it wasn't even a legit tune up for their main event.

With that said I think Williams will knock Lara out before 8 rounds.

Please find me a post where I denied he tried to cheat against Mosley. TY.

At least Margarito was not afraid to fight black boxers like your boy Jack Dempsey.
