Good call by HBO. To have that fight headline a card was silly IMO. Wasn't too overly excited about the fight either way. Would like to see who Williams will fight now though.

No way in hell is Quintana-Williams 3 a BETTER fight than Williams-Ishida.

Quintana got clapped by Berto last time he was on HBO. If its about $$$$ i understand, but if this is about viewership, Quintana-Williams will draw less than Williams-Ishida.

HBO had the audacity to show Hatton vs Alvarez. That fight sure as **** shouldnt have been a main event..

You're right that Hatton vs Alvarez was a crap fight but you have to understand that they're building up Alvarez and he gets good television ratings. You're not going to put him on the undercard and then have all the viewers leave after his fight - that wouldn't make sense.

Williams - Ishida was interesting to me and a good test for Williams at this current time. If he cant get by Ishida or struggles then we know Martinez ruined him but if he wipes Ishida out then it was a step in the right direction back to the top. There have been worse fights as an HBO BAD main event so I don't know why people hated the bout. If there were 1-2 more decent undercard fights it could have been an entertaining evening of fights. O well..

Youre right about Alvarez. I understood it from a ratings building/ career building standpoint. I agree with you 100000 percent. I was coming from the point that no one knows Matthew Hatton. Saul Alvarez is just now getting some light in the USA, and Carlos Quintana hasnt been good (from a ratings standpoint) since P-Will laid him out.

Im just not sure why people got so pissy about this being a headlining fight. I understand that most peeps on this board hate P-Will. But in all honesty, he and HBO have given us fans some really entertaining fights. Just because he got KO'd doesnt make him a bum worthy of getting dropped from HBO's roster.

Hell, he gave Martinez the fight of his LIFE in that 1st fight of theirs. Fans of his (me included) and some people who may not know of him can appreciate his action-type style. Ishida just got hot from clapping Kirkland, Williams is an entertaining fighter who needs a fight. Why NOT put those two in the ring?

I just think that HBO is full of **** for pulling the fight. If they indeed approve Quintana-Williams 3, instead of Williams-Ishida, I will boycott the **** out of HBO, seriously.

I heard it's because Paul Williams decided to bulk up, grow a huge ass afro and move to heavyweight.

Boxing fans don't know WTF THEY WANT and HBO is even more CLUELESS

I thought that was a good match up even though I don't think Ishida is that good and Williams probably would DESTROY HIM but still...

but yeah it wasn't Mainevent WORTHY!

I thought it was a good match up, just to see what Ishida has and where Williams is at after the Martinez loss.
