Comments Thread For: Latimore, Quintana Ready To Face Paul Williams on July 9

Promoter Lou DiBella has advised BoxingScene.com that two of his boxers, Deandre Latimore (22-3, 17KOs) and Carlos Quintana (28-3, 22KOs), are ready to face Paul "The Punisher" Williams (39-2, 27KOs) on July 9. HBO approved, and then rejected, a fight between Williams and Nobuhiro Ishida of Japan - which leaves Williams without a dance partner for the July date.

Might as well ice Quintana, after all, that would stop everyone from saying Quintana can beat him.

I'd rather see either of those fights over Ishida anyway. Quintana is probably who it should be. Go ahead and give him his trilogy, and in the process he can make a better argument that Martinez should give him one as well.

Atleast he did beat him before so people who say that have something to point to. Its not like when people say this guy or that guy would beat him cuz in their minds they think whoever can beat Williams. Ever since he lost to Sergio, people here talk as if anyone with a pulse at 154 can beat Paul.

This is a much better fight for Quintana to pursue than Alfredo Angulo. Angulo would destroy him right now.

Quintana-Williams trilogy would be great. Better than Ishida-Williams, IMO.

                Interesting........

I think it will be Lattimore. Either way he stops both.

True dat.I know most people hate him.But the things they say sometimes make me wonder.Martinez is the best fighter in the world in my opinion. But some of these guys won't fight the Punisher, much less Martinez but the Punisher still can't catch a break coming off of a brutal ko.Even though other fighters constantly but bull**** fights on ppv, they complain about the Punisher's regular hbo date.
