Marquez can beat Manny if he sticks to boxing, counter punching by letting Manny take the lead. If this fight is on the up and up, I give Juan a shot at giving Manny a hard time. Technical fighters are like kryptonite to Manny. Marquez can't go toe to toe with Manny or else it might be a wrap. Box smart and make Manny miss.Last edited by Carpe Diem; 05-18-2011, 05:58 PM.Comment

Yes every boxer in the world does 200,000 PPV buys on his own! Im not calling JMM a superstar with crossover appeal but 99% of all boxers couldn't do 50,000 PPV buys much less 200,000 PPV buys.Comment

What does Morales have over Pac that JMM doesn't???? A legit Win over Pac! Not a make believe win. How did he get destroyed in the second fight??? You make it seem like it was a whipe from rd 1 til it ended. The third fight was a very bad showing from Morales, ill give u that. And why did u even have to bring up anything about being Puerto Rican??? God, ya dudes are just obsessed with us. Can't even talk boxing without it being brought up. U probably just don't like Erik Morales since he dissed your kind of Mexicans before.Last edited by King Ju-Ju; 05-18-2011, 05:59 PM.Comment

Floyd fans should be last people on earth to object to this fight. All the odds are stacked up against Marquez when he fought Floyd. A counterpuncher forced to fight offensively for starters.Comment

once marquez gets tag a few times he's gonna learn real quick that manny's power is not the same as before. from there on out marquez will be force to be on the defensive end but since marquez have to much pride and is not scare like them other guys he will slug it out with pac here and there and just like all his knockdowns from pac it all came from marquez getting sloppy and getting caught in between exchange.. but this time pac is going to send marquez to sleep!!Comment

Manny Pacquiao: A Cultural Icon
As we sit back to reflect on the success of the the Pinoy pound-4-pound king Manny "The Pacman" Pacquiao one has to ask himself, who is Manny Pacquaio and why all the hype? Pacquiao's success not only encompasses his accomplishments in the ring but also as a humanitarian and world ambassador to a country who's been yearning for a positive figure to represent them on the world stage. You see, Pacquiao is more than just a wrecking ball annihilating other fighters; he’s a symbol of who the Filipino people are.
Pacquiao represents a struggle, a struggle that many Filipinos are all too familiar with. Growing up in the Philippines is not so easy for many there. Many Filipinos venture off to other countries leaving behind their families just to ensure that their families have a better life. Many Filipinos leave their country not because they want to leave their homeland, but because their on a mission of hope. Hope for a better future.
So as I continue to go to Manny Pacquiao fight parties and observe the excitement that Pacquiao brings to his people I have come to an understanding of the “hype”. No doubt, there have been many great fighters in the past who have dominated inside the ring. But few have carried a nation on their back. Not only has Pacquiao shouldered a nation but he has done it with grace and dignity, characteristics of his people.
So the next time you go see a Manny Pacquiao fight at some gathering and wonder why the little giant is so popular, look for a Pinoy in the crowd and just ask him. It’s more than just boxing.
