I guess my main point is its funny how things can change around and how our perspective of fighters can change over time....

Nothing to do with his trainer its purely due to him being over-the-hill and having to face the most special fighters in the world.

Pacquiao is smarter than Mosley. I'd expect Pacquiao to hang the gloves once defeated. Can't see him doing a Mosley or Roy Jones, he don't need the money either, which is a big difference.

Mosley gets passes cause he is a supposed good guy. The juice actually messed Mosley career up because once he got on it he thought he could just knockout everyone. Mosley never regained his fighting style from his 135 days once he moved up and got on the juice.

Just sitting at work thinking about Floyd Mayweather and his precious '0' and it got me wondering about Sugar Shane.

Lets say Shane had retired after his first fight with Oscar (due to injury or he decided he'd had enough) then I imagine he would go down as one of the greatest fighters ever... no? His record at lightweight was pretty phenomenal, he was unbeaten and looked every bit as good as past greats like SSR and SRL. The press were lording him as untouchable and at that time it would have been hard to disagree...

Now obviously he fought Vernon, Winky (bigger men) etc and lost his unbeaten record - these days he is being beaten quite hansomly by the elite fighters like pac and mayweather but is still competitive against B+ level fighters.

I guess my main point is its funny how things can change around and how our perspective of fighters can change over time.... I just hope people dont forget how great SSM was at his peak and how he always tried to deliver the most exciting fights for the fans
