In older fights I've heard the ref tell the fighters during the staredown that if they were going to shake hands/touch gloves, then to do it now and thats it.
If the refs made it clear to boxers nowadays that if they were going to touch gloves they had to do it during he staredown and thats it, would you support it? I mean like any touching of gloves/hand shaking/gestures other than boxing would be worth a warning and eventually become a foul
It kind of already falls under "protect yourself at all times" but you know what i mean
