Chavez wasnt at all fond of training other than sparring, and apprently loved his beer a little too much. also had a bad back, which is why he would stand up inbetween rounds in some of his fights.

It was Arum that referred Jr. to Roach, cause ARum wants Roach to anylize Jr.'s weaknesses and strengths, to see if Pac can withstand Jr., cause Arum had been thinking of matching up Jr. vs Pac a couple of years ago and would like to do so, sometime in the not-so-distant-future.

I'm pretty sure Chavez Sr. was quoted to be "excited" when Jr. brought up Roach's name as one of his possible trainers. Too lazy to google that article.
