i agree completely. Especially considering that Martinez has so much momemtum behind him with his last 3 fights, why would he ruin it by fighting fringe contender Rubio.
I also agree that Chavez -Rubio would probably be a good fight and good test to see if Jr. is a top 10 fighter.
But Martinez is a top 3 lb 4 lb fighter, and he should not be fighting fringe contenders like Rubio - up and coming guys like Lemeuix should be.

Martinez can fight whoever he wants. Lets be honest Cotto, Chavez Jr., and Canelo don't have the management balls to fight him. Pacquiao and Floyd won't fight anyone above the 147lb weight limit either.

Sergio Martinez is in a bad spot. He is a top boxer with bad timing. He ****s on Zbik and Rubio in the same night if he wants. He will either have to go up in weight and fight the big names or weight drain his self to fight a big name.

Realistic fights that should be made are Martinez vs Margacheato. I hate to say it but at 154 and the trash Margarito looks like I would love to see Sergio end his career.

I wonder if Sergio will take the Test?

Looking forward to see Maravilla fight again. I hope Zbik wins, that way he would be able to actually fight the champion. Chavez Jr already said that he wont fight Martinez, so he's out of question. The only good thing about Chavez Jr not willing to fight Martinez in case he wins the championship against Zbik, is that as Martinez is the emeritus champion, he can challenge the champion at any moment, so ir Chavez Jr refuses to fight, he'll be stripped of the belt, that way Martinez would fight Veneno Rubio for the vacant championship.

Cotto? I think we must also forget about him. Even if Cotto says that he wants to fight Maravilla, Top Rank will never allow it, they know Martinez is a great fighter at the moment, so they won't risk Cotto to lose.

Pirog's been mostly inactive after his KO win and the only fight he had he looked AWFUL against a club fighter in Maciel.

Golovkin, only hardcore fans know him. and what has he done? he KOed Bute in the amateurs and that's about it. his resume is a list of nobodies.

Cotto will never face Martinez because his career is coming to an end. he'll try to get a paper title at 160 and probably have one more bout with Pacquiao.

Chavez will hide under Arum's skirt for as long as possible. he knows Martinez would destroy him

NOBODY NOBODY is available 168. Ward, Froch and Johnson are all tied up in the super 6. Bute has a 4 fight deal with showtime and can't fight on HBO. Martinez is with HBO, they can't fight. 168 is tied up for at least 6 or 7 more months. I get sick of hearing all this 168 garbage, when any body with a brain would know that that aint happening until next year.

Martinez is screwed because nobody at 154 or 160 will come anywhere near him and if they are willing nobody knows them. so Martinez gets no credit for beating them.
