Comments Thread For: Sergio Martinez Could Return in Atlantic City, Los Angeles

As previously reported on BoxingScene.com, middleweight champion Sergio Martinez is likely going to return on October 1. There is a slight chance, depending on the opponent and the availability of a venue, of having his return pushed back to October 8. One of the frontrunners to face Martinez - is WBC middleweight champion Sebastian Zbik - who needs to seal the deal by beating Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. on June 4th. The other frontrunner is Marco Antonio Rubio, who recently knocked out undefeated David Lemieux in a WBC final eliminator. If the fight with Rubio is made, the bout has a good chance of taking place in Los Angeles, California. If Zbik defeats Chavez, a fight with Martinez could happen in Atlantic City. Rhode Island is also a consideration.

Why are you in a hurry to pay to watch him fight?

Cotto would never take the fight. The man is a warrior but he knows where he is at right now, and he know Sergio is way to much.

You can forget about Mayweather or any of the top guys at TR. I think their best shot at a "big money" fight is Bute. HBO would love it I'm sure. From there he'd have a lot of big fights at 168
