Can Peter Quillin become a world champ?

I've been following Kid Chocolates career since he began fighting a few years ago. He has improved alot recently and is coming off a very impressive beatdown and tko of former world title challenger Jesse Brinkley. Peter looked technically very sound in this fight, he has good combo's and heavy hands. I hope he can learn to fight better on the inside and he can sometimes get sloppy once an opponent gets close and tends to hold on until the ref either splits them up or he can push them away to gain some more distance. He is only 27 and had hardly any amature experience.

Do you think he could win a title in the future at 168 pounds? I think give him maybe 1-2 more years and 4 fights then throw him in with a world champ. At the moment i think his lack of inside fighting and ring experience would make him get beaten up pretty bad by tough fighters like froch or ward.

    What are your opinions?

He looked real good against Brinkley. Destroyed him worse then Bute did. Could definitely see him making some noise soon but just needs to keep on fighting and earning himself a shot against a named contender.

I think a fight against Pavlik or Abraham would be good to see where he stands at 168.

I agree. IMO I think he could have gotten Brinkley outta there in the first round when he nearly broke his face with that right hand. Pavlik would be a very good fight and a damm entertaining one. Both have a similar fighting style using straight punches, at this point with how rusty pavlik looked the other weekend I'd fancy quilin at the moment, he looks very strong at smw and hits very hard. If he cant fight pavlik he might as well try and get a fight with dirrell if he ever comes back or a fighter at his level.

I agree. He went very quite for a while. I think he relocated to the west coast from New York and now trains with Roach at the wild card. I'd like to see Quilin a champ. he seems very likeable and with the nick name and exiting fighting style he could be marketable in the future.

He definitely can. good combination of skills and power. Training out wet away from hometown distractions and around a lot of world champs.

I like him, I thought Brinkley would take him into deep water but he didn't let it happen.

I think so too, and actually i think he will be a champ in the near future. I know him personally and i know he is really serious about the sport and that he will continue no matter what.

IMO a fight with Pavlik would be a great move for both of them. Maybe even as a title eliminator fight. I wouldnt miss it.

And oh yeah i think Quillin would win.

Vera would be an excellent step up fight for Kid chocolate.

                    He has potential.
