I voted for Povetkin. That's a winnable fight and propels him up the rankings.
That was my first choice as well. Besides, Povetkin hasn't fought anyone yet this year. And he needs to fight a decent fight in his next fight, or risk going down the rankings due to inactivity.
He's ranked fifth in the world on Boxrec, he needs to start fighting like it. He really hasn't had a meaningful fight since 2008, IMO. That needs to change for him to stay in the top 10.
Helenius and I dont have to sift through allt he comments to find the reasons, its simple. Its a good step for both fighters. A step up in class to what theyve been fighting, the winner becomes the next name in the HW division if Adamek and Haye lose and they position themselves for a decent payday...if i were the winner of Helenius vs. Arreola I would next try to fight Boytsov, then Povetkin, and hope Wlad and Vitali retire and youd position yourself for the vacant belt, and you wouldnt risk becoming shot by having your brains bashed in by Vit or Wlad.
A HW ranked 5 or under should emerge as the premiere fighter after the Klitschko's and Haye are gone (sorry Adamek, youre the man, but you arent a HW)
I think the candidates are in NO order
An in shape Arreolo
A more experienced Dimi
A more experienced Helenius
A more experienced Chisora
Boytsov
povetkin. either that or a tune up fight leading up to this fight. undefeated european who weighs in at the 220s, sounds like a perfect fight for arreola.
NONE OF THE ABOVE, He should rematch Klits and loose or win, don't cry like a beatch on period. He needs to redeem himself with the one who took his heart.
We thought Peter-Arreola would be a good scrap, but after Wlad and Helenius knocked him the **** out back to back, I really think Sam is way too far gone now; he should retire.
Really a shame, but I think Chris' people will keep him out of really tough fights, and instead build him up with C level guys until he gets into an eliminator and then another title shot. And if he does look to take on a tough, hot prospect like Helinius, Fury, or Mitchell; those guys' promoters probably won't want to through them in there with Arreola.
Ideally, I'd like Mike Perez to have another fight or two and then jump in there with Arreola. I'm dreaming, though!
Put him in with somebody who will stand and trade, doesn't know how to box. Someone sort of like him. Just so we can at least get an exciting fight. Povetkin would be a cool fight.
