Why cant America produce great fighters anymore?

America has produced many all time greats but in recent years American fighters really are bums! RJJ was the last great American fighter, the current crop of fighters, Ward, Bradley, Dirrell, Berto will never be great. Why has the talent pool dried up? Are young American athletes going to other sports? Or have other nations simply surpassed the Yanks?
