The only thing I don't understand is that I'm white but all through life I've always looked up to black fighters, black athletes, etc. Especially during the eighties and nineties. Dave Chapelle said, "You see one lone white guy among a group of thugs he's the one you need to be scared of the most. He's done everything to get their respect." White american athletes and fighters are not the dominant force. They are few and far between. The ones who get that kind of attention are good. I always route for American athletes regardless of race though. Right now the two best fighters pound for pound are Andre Ward and Jon 'Bones' Jones. That's speaking for across the globe nobody can beat them.
