well any klit fan that thinks this is just another bum really need to check haye out. He IS all wrong for wlad i rememember herbie hide though, a really light footed hard hitting guy who on the face of things you would say is all wrong for the klilts but he was so small with such a **** chin that vitali put him to sleep with the crapiest KO punch i've ever seen. That said Haye is no Hide and I believe it will take a proper connection to do for him (not a bollox hide finishing shot) and tbh I see haye getting the proper connection on wlad before wlad gets it on him. i obviously wouldn't be shocked if it went the other way but i think haye can do it.

Well you're not a nuthugger like most Haye fans, but I don't see what you base your confidence on. Haye barely sc****d by the only fighter of comparable height and reach he has ever fought, Valuev, who is far slower, far less skilled, and has a far less potent punch than Wlad. In that fight, Haye threw fewer punches per round than any Heavyweight title winner in the history of the sport. He only sc****d a majority decision against a guy that Chagaev had beaten much more convincingly.

Against Ruiz, who had not had a good win for 7 years, Haye was horribly easy to hit with the jab, and a stricter referee would have at the least deducted several points for repeated rabbit punches, and some refs would have disqualified him.

The fact that he was offered the same terms to fight Wlad a year ago as he has accepted to fight him now, but turned the fight down last year in order to fight Audley (while pretending he'd turned it down because he deserved more than 50% of the purse) does not say much for his self-belief. The Audley fight made no sense unless he had serious doubts about his ability to beat Wlad.

And even the Barrett fight wasn't really encouraging, given that he was legitimately knocked down (as admitted by Haye, although the ref missed it) by a shot fighter who Solis destroyed easily soon afterwards.

All in all, Haye has done nothing to impress since moving to Heavyweight, and almost all neutrals have far less confidence in his chances now than they had a year or two ago.

Well, the guy who said that Wlad takes on the boxers whilst Vitali takes on the punchers seemed to be implying that. Not sure if that's what he meant though.



Wlad is clinical, yes, but one of the biggest mistakes people make about him is to think he's robotic and predictable. Wlad has a small number of punches and tactics which he uses religiously, but the ways in which he uses them are extremely difficult to figure out. It's not like he just throws out his jab willy nilly, Paul Williams style. There's real craft and timing behind it. He varies the speed on it, feints with it, uses it to mask other punches, or simply uses it to drill straight through an opponent's defences. If he was that predictable someone would have figured him out in the six years since his last loss.

I honestly can't think of any opponent that Haye has fought that's much like Wlad in style or (obviously) skill level. Has Haye fought stiff upright Eastern Euros with a height advantage before? Sure. But he's in for a rude awakening if he thinks Wlad is remotely like those guys.

now haye has a fast puncher's chance obviously, but wlad has developed into one of the best technicians in boxing and that's deadly when you have the height and reach advantages he has over haye. haye has a lot of ground to cover to get to wlad's chin....

The Gayemaker's biggest heavyweight win was a fight in which he looked FAR less impressive than Ruslan Chagaev did in beating a better version of the same opponent (Valuev, of course).

That says it all re the Gayemaker's HW credentials -- they are weak, weak, weak.

People are talking like Wladimir cherry picks his opponents. He takes on all comers, its not his fault the heavyweight division sucks. Name one (willing) fighter who Wlad should have fought that he avoided?

Valuev avoided Wlad and Vitali for a long time actually ... when he had the chance to fight Wlad he ducked him and finally ended fighting Haye.
