Completely unrelated to what you wrote. I wrote the wrong information. David Diaz fought Manny Pacquiao back in 2008 then Pacquiao fought De la Hoya later that year. Pacquiao only fought twice back in 2009. He fought Ricky Hatton and Miguel Cotto. I apologize for the wrong information. I forgot my history.

Miguel Angel Cotto fought Antonio Margarito in the year 2008. The date was July 7, 2008 when Cotto suffered a TKO loss against Margarito in Round 11.

The following year, Cotto fought 3 fights in total in 2009. Miguel Cotto fought Michael Jennings whose record stand at 34 Wins and 17 KOs with 1 UD loss. Cotto's record stood at 34 Wins and 26 KOs with 1 TKO loss.

Cotto won by delivering a technical knockout to Jennings at Round 5.

Next up, Cotto fought Joshua Clottey at a back and forth fist fight earning Cotto a split decision win over Clottey. The fight occurred June 6, 2009.

5 months later, Cotto met up with the raising star Manny Pacquiao in November 14, 2009. Manny Pacquiao having fought twice in 2009 all wins coming by knockouts against David Diaz and Ricky Hatton. This fight was a significant match for both men. Cotto who is rebuilding his image as one of the elite Welterweights and climbing his way back into the pound for pound list. Manny Pacquiao who is creating a superstar boxing career after his Dream Match against Oscar De La Hoya.

To sum it up, Manny Pacquiao defeated Miguel Cotto a long time elite fighter in the Welterweight division. And the rest is history.
Thing you don't reference is that after that fight with Margocheato he was never the same.... Then you come off that fight and fight on war type fights and then inthe very next fight Pacquiao? Who also drained him before the fight as well....

His last two fights have been really crappy, Marg (long layoff and a uneventful decision prior to Pac fight) for a catch weight vacant title belt and 40 yr Mosley coming off 2 dismal performances (Arum acknowledged this too). If you defend those fights you're a disgrace.

I have no problems whatsoever with him fighting Cotto (great win and his best win @ WW imo) and Clottey (was considered as one of the top WW's at the time). He really should've cleaned out the 140 division - no catch weights, plenty of young and hungry opponents.

Agree, Pacquiao last 2 fight are business fights and hardly what boxing fans want to see and his next one against JMM is another money fight that Arum put to milk his cash cow.

So Margarito put a beating on Sergio before. I guess Sergio was never the same after that right?
