'The Fighter' was an OK movie...

but it wasn't great as I expected from all the reviews and accolades people and experts gave it. Does having followed Ward's career gave you the same feeling?

I mean, maybe for the casual people the great, heartfelt story of his brother and Micky's comeback was enough but for us that know about his brawls with Gatti and Burton it was OK. They could have done so much better to "put over" and highlight Ward's grit and heart inside the ring. You felt the same after watching the movie?

        My review here...

        I enjoyed it.

I'VE seen all the boxing movies. Some of them are better than others. Some of them are pretty bad such as "Ali" and "Undisputed" while...

The scene I enjoyed the most in the movie was the girlfriend getting into a fight with ward's sisters.

I thought it was good, not great.

If you want to laugh, watch the original HBO broadcast of the Sanchez fight, which was dramatized in the film.

Lampely, Merchant and Roy Jones really tear into Ward, saying things like "he's not even trying" and "he's just here for a payday".

Interesting that this fight is recreated in a major motion picture.

I too was dissapointed about the Burton-Ward stuff until I heard that Walhberg is trying to milk it and plans on making a sequal showing all of that stuff

His book "irish thunder" was better, but i thought the movie was pretty good.. Christian Bale made that movie.
