Pound for pound king Manny Pacquiao has replaced NBA superstar Lebron Jones of the Miami Heat in a Hewlett Packard mobile phone commercial.
Pacquiao’s adviser Michael Koncz told the Philippine Daily Inquirer that Pacquiao completed a two-day commercial shoot for a HP phone which was similar to the Blackberry. Koncz said this meant a second contract following Pacquiao’s earlier deal to promote HP’s IPad. <---That should say TouchPad
Koncz said Lebron James was supposed to shoot the commercial but since he was involved in the NBA Playoff game against the Boston Celtics “he couldn’t do that so Manny ended up with a second commercial.”
Koncz described it as “a tremendous deal which would automatically renew.”
He said Pacquiao “was on time for the shoot. He was so happy. Everything was go, go, go.”
The latest endorsement by Pacquiao follows a growing recognition of the "Fighter of the Decade" as a genuine crossover superstar with a huge following.
