If Ward-Abraham happened 2 years ago nobody cept me and a couple others on this site would have picked Ward.

It's awesome to see Abraham get dominated so badly after the way people were swingin off his nuts like he was Mike Tyson.

Most overrated boxer of the past 10 years. If Pavlik had fought him at 160 he woulda been shut out in that fight as well.

I don't think Ward uses cheating tactics to win. But his style is ugly and boring to watch. The thing is that it is effective and it works for him. I expect more of the same until someone can figure him out.

I would call it dirty rather than cheating, and its the ref's job to enforce the rules. All fighters push the rules as far as they can in there. I dont like how he uses his head, but its hardly a secret so the ref should have his eye on it and take action accordingly.

Kessler was just standing there, never moving his head when he knew Ward was coming in, he was trying to draw fouls.... much like a guy who flops in basketball and/or soccer.
I'm not a huge fan of Ward, but I give the guy his just due. He's dedicated to his craft and has more talent than most of the other American fighters that keep letting us down and people gotta hate on that. Lol.

Against Bika it got outta hand but I didn't mind it because Bika is far and away the dirtiest professional boxer in the business. But against Kessler it seemed to me that it was a clash of styles. As for Green it was simply inside fighting IMO. I like the fact that when you watch a Ward fight someone is going to get lumped up....it's going to be an actual fight. Unlike some of these pitty-pat boxers who ate in the ring to make friends.

So it's sad that Pavlik blatantly ducked him isn't it?

In the old days when boxing was a much bigger sport than it is now, there used to be a lot more clinching than there is today. If you don't believe me, watch some of Jack Johnson's fights.
