The main problem when it comes to this Floyd vs. Manny debacle

Something I've noticed, and it's not exactly a secret, is that there's virtually NO websites out there that do not have their own built in biases towards specific fighters. It's very difficult to remain impartial and non-biased, because we're all human.

I've always been partial to Chris Byrd, and no matter what anyone tells me or tries to say, I'll always feel he was massively underrated and underappreciated, considering what he accomplished.

I can't think of a single website that does not have biased "journalism". This site has it, Boxing Talk has it, Fight hype has it, doghouse, ESB, etc, etc, etc.

Some are pro Floyd, some are Pro Manny. Some might try to maintain a balance of both by employing writers that are fans of each one, but the bottom line is that there's really nowhere to go that isn't tipped in one or the other's favor.

And as a result, when there is confusing information out there, there's really nowhere that you can go to just get the straight dope as far as what's going on.

I mean, Boxing Talk is notorious for their anti-Floyd stance ever since Floyd and Greg had a falling out. Fight Hype has some embarrasingly slobbering "interviews" with Floyd and James Toney on there, where it's not even hiding their biases. Doghouse has some of the most **** writing I've ever seen, along with a slew of misleading headlines designed to elicit clicks.

Then there's some dude named "Fantana" that I'm not even going to get started on on ESB.

In fact there's only TWO writers that I can think of off the top of my head that at least tries to play it straight, even if they admit they have their own opinions on who's wrong and who's right, and that's Vivek Wallace and Steven "Breadman" Edwards.

And because of all that, we end up having these situations where everyone is throwing out stuff that's been debunked over and over, we have stuff coming out from YEARS ago and people thinking it's current in the negotiations, and just a relative confusion among everyone.

It'd be nice if we had a specific place to go that was sort of a impartial information hub of everything going on. Nothing that's spin from Arum and nothing that's spin from Floyd or Golden Boy.

    Just the FACTS.

Perhaps wishful thinking, but then maybe we wouldn't have this situation now where I look at the main page of this section and I can't figure out what the hell is going on. lol.

Only one thing left to follow at this point. Will Manny put his "take the test in the ring on fight night" demeanor in writing.

I wanna see some ink dried on a contract already. Pass that sht to Floyd with that all signed up, and then we'll see if somebody ducks the fight.

Until that point, I'm staying away from the subject - it's just grandstanding by those two until then.

I love reading Breadman's material.....straight from the gut, no b.s. But more importantly, I dig his passion and knowledge of the sport. He tarins guys in Philly and he knows his history. Definitely one of my favorites

Yes, people have biases that's normal.

But this didn't come from a writer, it was quoted word for word, it's from the same interviewer on the videos as well.

For a man to say take the tests and imply that his opponent should cheat pretty much sums up this whole debacle.

"Not saying that I wish nothing bad on Shane because I want Shane to win. Everybody says, 'Well, if Shane wins, what about your money?' I don't worry about that. I got things outside the ring that I'm generating major income from...If I was Shane, you know what I would do? I would go back to the old Shane, so he can be on an even playing field. Just say **** it."
            - Floyd Mayweather Jr.

that was kinda weird to me. He's getting his ass sued for defamation of character, and he just can't help himself. he THINKS he's being clever and subtle as if there's going to be a lot of people who don't understand what he's referring to.

Now that he's got his new public relations firm in FH, he's going to end up saying some **** that's going to hurt him even more, now that he has a friendly outlet that's just going to let him say whatever and not challenge him.

it doesnt take a genius to see the obvious. its common sense.

round up what floyds been doin.. its something a lil immature boy would do.

he keeps talking smack, about how beatable manny is; the dudes an internet warrior; look at his website, twiiter and fb. instead of showin up at this years biggest boxing event and supporting it, he watches lady gaga. he wants nowhere close to manny.

                    and mannys response to this?

let the commission do their job and let the fighters do theirs. he can fight anyone, anywhere. it doesnt matter who he is as long as the moneys right.

now thats a professional doing his job. similar to a hired hitman.
