ok man this is BOXING not a street fight. stay on topic. n IMO it wasn't as much holding as u think, it was smart holding and part of the gameplan. not like ruiz when his best punch is a clinch

I don't pick him to beat Brewster again, I'd pay him not to fight Ruiz because that would be the most boring fight ever after watching Wlad tonight. He maybe still be the no. 1 contender tho due to the fact everyone else is garbage.
No.1, he was facing a monster puncher. No.2 he overcame adversity. No.3 he outlasted and clearly beat his opponent. As far as Ruiz, he's not even a big puncher, Wlad would be much less cautious fighting him. You're right though the new improved Brewster would probably **** him up, but yo he's still one of the best out there, and not just because everbody else is weak.

Man I'm fairly new to this site (been reading it for weeks tho) and this kid Rodgers=Bust is everywhere and no-one likes him. What is his problem?
My main concern with Wlad is just he IS fighting like Lennox BUT his defense is not as sound. Don't get me wrong, I like his offensive skills majorly. However, Lewis would take someone apart when attacking AND when in a pressure fight or sensitive to prior knockdown was virtually unhittable (Tyson, Rahman rematch, Vitali Klitschko, Tua etc.) In those fights when he locked down defensively he seemed untouchable.

Let me restate what I said as i didn't want to flame Wlad I rather wanted to state what I saw. First wlad didn't really do that much, yes he threw 60 punches a round for 12 rounds, alot of them were pawing jabs, some crisp but alot of lazy jabs while peter stood there watching. His stamina may have improved but there was nothing that showed me it is "good". Wlad's chin, not as bad as may have thought, yes the knockdowns were a mix of fatigue and hits to the back of the head, although (atleast one of them) were when he was hit hard and wobbling a bit which added a bit to it. Finally the holding, skillful holding as George said or not, it was holding, hed jab jab grab. For the heavyweight said to have the best technical skills in the game at the moment, he should have been able to winky peter, which I admit he did, but that was for a while then hed hold a while. I'll say this Wlad will be a champ if he fights bryd or ruiz. He won't fight his brother. Brewster is more skillful then Peter and I don't see wlad winning a rematch.

Like big George said it was skillfull holding.
exactly. theres a difference between Ruiz holding and defensive holding.

wlads a big guy. 99.9% of big guys cant fight on the inside, its not that they suck at it, its just not natural for their big stature. so instead of trying to back away, wlad AND vitali hold when close enough because natural big guys have too long arms to be effective at infighting.
