It's not that simple. What happened is this.....

Garcia at the time was still not as well known as he is now and Margarito was basically his first big time fighter he took on.

I can guarantee you Marg was calling all the shots in the corner because Garcia wanted to stop it and Marg chose to keep going.

This is the reason Marg isn't mad at Garcia for not stopping it because he understands that it was him who chose to keep it going.

Now I know some of you will say that Garcia should have stopped it anyway and I agree but when your not a big time trainer like Roach or Nacho, I bet you Garcia just felt like he was going to do what Marg wanted him to do.
