Cotto showed some serious mettle in there.

    Good solid win.

Great fight....Torres should get a rematch sometime down the road when he has more time to prepare...3 weeks preparation and he did that well imagine if he had a full training camp..

          hmm

Lots of credit to Cotto but he is CLEARLY behind Mayweather and Hatton at 140 if there was any doubt before. He is very cool-headed which helps him recover but his chin is also not so good (though not HORRIBLE), perhaps due to his dehydrating to make weight.

Hatton and Floyd should be calling Cotto up on his cell any sec now.

P.S. Who knows what Torres might have done with a full training camp? Torres obviously has a LOT of power.

Before all the cotto haters come forth and say he's just hype, he has a glass jaw etc. I would just like to ask, this is what we want isn't it? We wanna see fights like this. Sure theirs fighter like PBF that can dominate any opponent they get their hands on but isn't seeing a back and forth battle more exciting. Cotto suffered his first knock down in this fight, he was rocked god knows how many times but he showed the heart of a true worrior and champion and came back to KO Torres. He could have easily boxed his way to an easy victory but decided to risk getting hit and give the fans a show. Awsome fight, awsome performance by both fighters, and I would like to see a rematch.

I'm sorry but as far as I'm concerned Cotto was exposed tonight. The guy is wide open to the overhand right and as Super_ said, has a below average (but not awful) chin.

edit: I shouldn't say exposed as in the guy was always a fraud, but rather well below par of the other champs, Maussa excluded.

                    hmm

I agree in a sense but Cotto didn't trade to give the fans a show. If he did, that was a very dumb decision. ****in up his melon doin' that. He more likely stood there with Torres due to his belief in his own power.

                    Good fight. Still...

                    Hatton TKO Cotto

Its funny how both fighters show hurt differently Cotto looks shaken and does the boogey dance then regains himself, Torres on the other hand just slowly wore down. I don’t think Cotto was exposed. We already knew a solid right could hurt him and that he is hittable. If anything he showed heart and some technical flaws that need to be fixed.
