Comments Thread For: Toshiaki Nishioka-Rafael Marquez Bout in The Works?

There is some discussion regarding Rafael Marquez (39-6, 35KOs), a former bantamweight and junior featherweight champion, going up against the World Boxing Council (WBC) champion Toshiaki Nishioka (38-4-3, 24KOs) of Japan. Rafael is in the gym working full steam under the direction of his veteran trainer Daniel Zaragoza. Marquez, who thought he might be fighting on the Chavez-Zbik undercard on June 4 in Los Angeles, is now being positioned to return on the 28th of this month in Mexico.

Jhonny also knocked him down. But this fight would be fireworks both can crack and both can be knocked down and get back up.

I hope it happens. Gr8 fight, but I think Nishioka wins. Rafa may be past his best. He seems to be plagued with injuries too. But he can still surprise.
