What I believe is happening is Shaw is trying to extend Bradley's contract incumbent on his taking the fight with Khan. Pretty much what Golden Boy was trying to do with Juan Manuel Marquez for taking a fight with Erik Morales. So Bradley will sit idle and allow his contract to expire.
So it is Khan's interest to find another opponent and go ahead with his July/August fight, considering he will be inactive during the month of Ramadan.

Now on the grander scheme of things, had Bradley taken the fight with Khan and win, he'd be a cinch to fight Manny Pacquiao if he beats Juan Manuel Marquez. Should Floyd Mayweather surface and take a fight with Manny Pacquiao on the first saturday of May 2012, then they both will retire, which would make Bradley's greatest chance of a payday...Khan.

no they both are in and around 50% each what shaw is mentioning is the split in the purse for him and bradley which he would take less than 80% of their normal agreement to make the fight which makes bradley sound even werse

It makes Shaw look bad for bad mouthing his own fighter,it also proves that Shaw is a big reason for the hold up..

It would have also depened on who Bradley signed with,GBP and TR are not in the habit of doing business with each other..This will still be an issue when it comes time to sign with a new promoter..I hope Bradley signs with GBP,they have the most fighters fighting around his weight..GBP makes the most sense...

Bradley is one of the only champs that has been defending his title against legit killers every time out. He hasn't had a soft touch since beating Witter. So how do you label Bradley a ducker? Bradley will fight Khan but not in his next fight if he wants out of the contract. He didn't duck Alexander, Campbell, an undefeated Lamont Peterson, hard punching Cherry, or Holt. Nobody can knock his title run. If he isn't accepting the offer its for a legit reason because his track record shows he takes on the challenges. It would actually be to Khan's benefit to get more experience because after khans last outing I don't think Bradley is worried bout fighting him.

Get real,Khan has a first rd lost on his rec and is being talk about as a Mayweather fight right now..Khan has not even unified any belts yet either and was being talk about as a Mayweather opponent..Ortiz has two loses(and quit in the ring)and is being talk about as a Mayweather opponent..You know why??Promotion..They are on Major promotion teams,Khan is not taking risk like Bradley is taking buddy it's easy to see...

Bradley has practically no following and isnt a draw. Not having shaw there isnt going to change that. I can see both sides of this one, Bradley feels he deserves more credit for his achievements(as do I) but he just doesnt capture the publics imagination. Khan, on the other hand, has quite a following and also a lot of people wanting to see him get sparked.

I dont wanna judge Bradley too harshly at this point, I would rather wait to see what happens when he is out of contract. If at that point he doesnt make the Khan fight or fight someone better, then he will have ducked IMO.

Only thing I've have done is point out the truth..Can you name the time that Khan took a risk that you are asking Bradley to take??I'm not bias dude I like Khan and never said he duck anybody and I was/am looking forward to Bradley and Khan fighting..But I also understand boxing is a business(which you would understand if it was Khan and not Bradley)no matter how much we might not like it,it is what it is..

I really don't know how some people can just skim over the facts and just go on about "ducking". Let's review:

FACT: Shaw is trying to do whatever he can to get Bradley to fight BEFORE Junes end, so he stays in the picture.

FACT: Shaw is offering to cut his percentages back (Some people read it as Bradley was making 80% over Khan, that's not what it says). Of course Shaw is willing to cut back his percentage, some is better than none. But the fact that he's putting it out through his attorney, through the media, tells you that the man has an agenda AGAINST his own fighter, who by the way IS still under contract with him at the moment. If that doesn't tell you what kind of snake Shaw is, I don't know what will. Take your dislike of a certain fighter out of it, would you want that kind of promoter for yourself?? I think not.


FACT: Shaw is NOT just going to give Bradley a freebie fight and let him go. Bradley taking the Khan fight IN JUNE surely means he has to extend his contract with Shaw. Bradley obviously doesn't want that.

FACT: If Bradley takes this fight NOW against Khan, he loses out on making another guaranteed 1+million for fighting a different opponent. He could fight Khan AFTER his next guaranteed fight and make an additional 1+million fighting Khan next. Whay would he use up his guarantee fight for a fight that would net him that much at any time? He doesn't have the same luxury Khan does of knowing each fight he will make a guaranteed 1+million. Of course Khan can walk away, he can fight the McCloskeys of the world and still make that amt., everyone knows Bradley cant. His list contains 3 specifically tough fighters or HBO wont pay.

FACT: Bradley has not said he never wants to fight Khan. Because of his predicament, it just shouldn't be right now. I don't know why Bradley did that interview telling Khan not to run, honestly I don't care. It really only tells me that he does want to fight Khan, but he realized that RIGHT NOW is NOT smart. Yes, he should have waited to open his mouth.

We all know how Team Khan loves their money. Put the shoe on the other foot and half of the people in here would be saying the same thing as Bradley. Unless you can also say that Khan was "ducking" all those guys that "priced themselves out" of fighting Khan (and there have been many) then perhaps a few people could just cut Bradley just a teensy bit of slack and look at it with honest eyes. When Khan makes business moves, he's smart. When Bradley makes business moves, hes a ducker. Come on. Ya'll can keep saying that Bradley doesn't draw, but the FACT is (as Khan said from his own mouth) THE WORLD WANTS TO SEE BRADLEY VS KHAN. He must be worth something if the whole world wants to see it, no?? In this case, it's gonna take BOTH of them to make the fight THE WHOLE WORLD WANTS TO SEE.
